My mom has told many times over the years that any time you have to offer up criticisms about someone to be sure to start the conversation with positives. My mom also told me that “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.”
With all due respect to my wonderful mother, whom I’ve known all of my life, I tend to believe that it doesn’t matter how many nice things you say before you get to the proverbial “BUT”….most people only remember what they heard after the “BUT”.
With that in mind, I tried really hard to think as positively as I could as I laid out my thoughts and observations from KU’s opening season loss to Division I-AA’s North Dakota Bison. Really. I did.
